Admitting and training students in line the objectives of vision and mission statements of the philosophy of the university, thereby building strongly, the ideals of the citadel of learning and ensuring that all the activities are in a course, towards maintaining a straight jacket of the hard earned reputation of the University.
Students shall be required to register for an approved combination of courses with a minimum of 15 credit units and a maximum of 24 credit units per semester. No students may register for number of units higher
than the approved maximum of 48 units per session unless with the approval of the senate or committee of Deans acting on behalf of the Senate.
All courses taken must be evaluated and a final grade given at the end of each semester. The final grade is composite of the grades from the Continuous Assessment and the main examination as shown below: (i) Assignments (ii) Term Paper, when applicable (iii) Quizzes (iv) Mid- semester Quiz Examination (v) end of Semester Examination.

ON GOING RECENT ACTIVITIES
The various committees of the faculty are organizing orientations, workshops, symposia etc, for the second semester phase of the academic session. Research projects are currently in progress where critically selected relevant topics have been structured and work is in progress. The progress report will soon be conducted. Afterwards, Internal Defense will follow, and will herald the invitation of the External Examiner in July this year. More importantly, Molecular analysis is trending in the scientific
world. The students, as usual will be subjected to molecular analysis of their findings in the molecular analysis Laboratory of Madonna University Nigeria, Elele. These undertakings emphasize the collaborative and extensive nature of practical activities in the faculty.
For effective and efficient coordination of the various activities of the faculty, the following committees were put in place:

It’s my utmost pleasure to, on behalf of this great faculty extend a very pleasant welcome to you. The faculty is located in the Elele campus of the Madonna University, Nigeria.
The faculty was established in the academic year 1999/2000, following the approval by the Senate of the University. Formerly, the following four (4) Departments made up the faculty: Department of Biochemistry, Department of Computer Science, Department of Industrial Chemistry and Department of Microbiology. Two additional departments were introduced and formally approved by the University senate in 2023 viz: Department of Cyber Security, and Department of Software Engineering.
The various departments offer a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) ,Degree; Master of Science (M.Sc) degree; and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) degree. The standardized curriculum brings to focus the pivotal scientific fundamentals with Innovations, coupled to Mentor Cum Mentee relationship and standard global best practices in the field of Science, targeted towards preparing students for impactful future careers. The commitment of the staff is non-pariel and is the magic wand to our academic and administrative successes recorded so far.
Our pedagogical approach, philosophically emphasizes comprehensive cum collaborative learning, critical thinking and Innovative stances, often engaging students with industrial trainings, workshops that eventually culminate to dynamic course/research projects.
With practical courses, the faculty engineers, fundamental scientific principles that work in tandem with the conducive environment that offers the students ample peace and relaxation with which to attain global competences, thereby equipping the graduates with deep theoretical and practical insights. In the area of research, the faculty has been undertaking impressive research projects that addresses the environmental matters of our time that are superlatively impressive with an appreciable cumulative Google scholar citations. The academic staff publish regularly in top – notch peer-reviewed Journals. Most of the lecturers present papers and keynote addresses at notable local and international conferences and hold key editorial and leadership roles in Local Organizing Committees and also in international forums.
It is crystal clear that we are driven by passion with what we do. The success of our products is in the highest echelon of our priorities. The faculty of Science and Computing has six departments namely: Department of Biochemistry, Department of Computer Science, Department of Cyber Security, Department of Industrial Chemistry, Department of Microbiology and Department of Software engineering. . The Faculty Offers Courses Leading to the award of Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) Degree in the various disciplines. In obedience to the directive of NUC the faculty has restructured the Basic Minimum Academic Standard (BMAS) and upgraded to the Core Curriculum Minimum Academic Standard (CCMAS).
In the face of the competitive scientific innovations and the challenges posed by the future offered by Artificial Intelligence, the faculty has strategized towards ensuring that the global best practices in the field of Science is the target, so as to engender a scientific culture of Innovation and ethical practices for the students of the faculty.
To engender, stabilize and produce a generation of ethically and innovation driven graduates, that can competitively compete effectively in the global market as superlative graduates, fully equipped with the scientific knowledge, skills and values.
The general objective of the faculty of Science and computing is to produce quality graduates who are able to be in the forefront in the solving of problems associated with their various disciplines, wherever they find themselves after graduation, whether in the public or private sectors of the economy.
