He has many published articles in peer reviewed local and international journals. He has supervised and guided undergraduate and postgraduate students in the Faculty of pharmacy to successful completion of their programmes. He is currently playing similar role in Madonna University Elele, Nigeria.

He was teaching Medicinal Chemistry, Drug discovery and Development to PhD students of the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, University of Uyo, before proceeding on sabbatical.

Research interest: Natural Product Chemistry, Antimalaria Research, Drug Analysis and Synthesis.

Prof. Igboasoiyi led the Faculty of Pharmacy University of Uyo in achieving Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN) FULL accreditation status in 2015. He also led the Faculty in achieving National Universities Commission’s FULL accreditation status in 2015.
