His Life and Works at a Glance

BACKGROUND

Prof. Martin Osita Anagboso, born in Obudu, Cross River State, is a Professor of Environmental and Petroleum Microbiology. He attended St. Stephen Lutheran Primary School, Obudu in Cross River State. Shortly after his Primary Education, the young Martin enrolled in the highly prestigious Government Secondary School, Obudu, in Cross River State. His performance in the WAEC propelled him into a higher institution where he obtained his BSc Degree in Microbiology with honours from Madonna University, Nigeria, and his MSc Degree and PhD in Environmental and Petroleum Microbiology from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka Nigeria.

He started his career as a Graduate Assistant at Madonna University, Nigeria and has held so many other administrative positions such as:

  • Senate Committee Chairman on Curriculum Review
  • Member, representing Faculty of Science in the university Senate
  • Member, Senate Committee on Strategic Planning
  • Chairman, Madonna University Silver Jubilee Planning Committee
  • Chairman, Student Disciplinary Committee, etc.

He currently holds the position of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), in addition to being the Chairman Governing Council, Caritas University, Amorji-Nike, Enugu State. He has held many other academic and administrative positions before his rise to the rank of Professor.

Professor Martin has also been involved in numerous international assignments, including being a Trustee Member of the Madonna International Charity Peace Award (Foundation), Coordinator of the Madonna University Liaison Office in Europe and America, and a participant in various international events such as:

  • The Oslo Centre for Peace Convention,
  • Bill Clinton Global Initiative in New York, U.S.A and
  • Nobel Peace Prize Summit in Oslo, Norway. 

He is an external examiner to Medical Laboratory Science Technician Examination Board. He is a certified Environmental Impact Assessment Consultant and a certified Bioremediologist.

He has researched and published extensively in both national and international journals in the field of Environmental Science and Petroleum Microbiology. His current research is on KINETIC MODELING OF TOTAL PETROLEUM HYDROCARBON DURING A BIOREMEDIATION OF CRUDE OIL-POLLUTED SOIL USING DIFFERENT AMENDMENTS.
