Abstract

Hemophilia A is an X-linked recessive disease caused by a defect in functional coagulation of plasma VIII (FVIII), which can be inherited or caused by spontaneous mutations. The development of inhibitory alloantibodies against FVII can seriously complicate the management of genetic cases. In rare cases, the development of autoantibodies against FVII can lead to acquired hemophilia A. The diagnosis of hemophilia A can be suspected because the coagulation test shows an increase in partial thromboplastin time (PTT) when the prothrombin time (PT) and bleeding time are normal.
